Our mission

Great beer.
Great bread.

Every loaf we bake starts with Michigan craft beer and a natural European sourdough starter that we feed daily.

The dough rests for more than a day before it ever sees the oven, which is where the flavor comes from. That bread becomes our pizza crusts, pretzel buns, brioche and focaccia, and it shows up on every plate we serve.

Since 1972

A family that has been baking in West Michigan for generations

The Fahlen family opened their very first restaurant inside the Old Mill in Rockford in 1972. You may remember it as Arnie's. After a top-to-bottom remodel, the same building and the same family are back as Beer City Bread Co., and the bread is still the reason people walk through the door.
